Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Embark on an unforgettable journey through the eastern half of Morocco in a modern, air-conditioned minibus. Our adventure begins at 7:15 a.m. with a pick-up from your Marrakech hotel, followed by a scenic drive over the Atlas Mountains to the ancient Kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou. Here, you’ll explore six remarkable fortresses within a walled city, feeling like you’ve returned to an era of gladiators and desert nomads. After a guided tour and lunch in the Kasbah, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gateway to the Desert” and famous for films like The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. A brief café stop here precedes our journey to the serene Dades Valley, where you’ll relax at a private guesthouse with an en-suite bathroom and enjoy a delightful Moroccan dinner, capping off a day filled with historical wonders and cinematic landscapes.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast at our guesthouse, we’ll head to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where the stunning scenery will make you wonder why it isn’t listed as a wonder of the world. Following lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Merzouga, a true desert oasis. Upon arrival, we’ll mount camels and traverse the mesmerizing Dunes of Erg Chebbi, eventually reaching a Berber desert camp where we’ll spend the night. Day 3: Merzouga Experience

This day is dedicated to exploring the desert, starting with a sunrise panoramic view. If you are in the middle of the desert, it’s worth getting up early to witness the most spectacular sunrise you’ve ever seen from the top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this natural wonder. After sunrise, we’ll return to Merzouga on camels, where a hearty breakfast awaits. Then, we’ll skirt the Erg Chebbi, a vast sandy desert featuring the Big Dune of Morocco, which stands over 250 meters high. We’ll continue along the road once used for the “Paris – Dakar” rally, ending at the mountains bordering Algeria. We’ll stop at Tissardmin oasis, where fossil quarries still exist, and then proceed along a road where we can see nomad settlements and learn about their secrets and customs. The next stop will be a viewpoint to contemplate the whole Erg Chebbi. We’ll then reach Kamilia Village, originally from Mali, where we’ll enjoy a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a concert of the spiritual music of Gnawa. You’ll be transferred to your accommodation, with a free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to watch the sunset. Dinner and night will be at the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After a restful night at the Relaxing desert camp, we will journey through the scenic Draa Valley, stopping at Rissani to admire the exquisite Moroccan architecture of its palaces, gateways, and temples, perfect for capturing memorable photographs. Our final leg takes us through Nqob and Tamnougalt, returning to the familiar city of Ouarzazate.
